Questions, mostly the obvious ones.
A short, opinionated app deserves short, opinionated answers. If something isn’t here, ask.
01
Shooting & developing
How is Fini different from the regular Camera app?
Fini treats taking a photo as an event. You load a roll, frame the world inside a bright lens on a dark camera surface, spend your 24 shots, and wait for the roll to develop. There is no live preview of what you just shot, no retakes mid-roll, no endless scrolling. The constraint is the product.
How many shots per roll?
Twenty-four. Across every tier. No customization.
Can I see the photo right after I take it?
No. That’s the point. You see the roll once it develops — all 24 frames together, like opening an envelope.
Are there filters or presets?
No filters and no editing surface inside Fini. Each film stock has its own colour science that’s baked in at develop time. You choose the film when you load the roll.
How long does developing take?
Enough that it feels like waiting, not enough that you forget. The exact duration depends on the roll and the moment. Fini sends a quiet local notification when your roll is ready.
Can I save developed photos to my Photo Library?
Yes. Fini has add-only access to your library — it can save developed frames, but it never reads photos that are already there.
02
Sharing & invites
What’s a shared roll?
A single roll that more than one person contributes to. Everyone invited shoots their own frames, the owner (or any participant on a Friends roll) triggers developing, and the entire album arrives at the same time for everyone.
How do I invite people?
From a shared roll, you can send a private link or show a QR code. There’s no public discovery — rolls only exist for the people who hold the invite.
How many people can join a roll?
Up to 10 on Friends. More than 10 — weddings, parties, larger events — needs the Events tier. See pricing.
Can free users join shared rolls?
Yes. The Personal (free) tier can join any shared roll they’re invited to and contribute frames. The tier restrictions are about creating rolls, not joining them.
Who decides when the roll develops?
On Friends rolls, any participant can trigger developing once the roll is full or the owner decides it’s time. On Events rolls, only the owner can develop — that’s usually what a host wants.
Can I leave a roll?
Yes. You can leave at any time. Frames you already contributed stay with the roll for the other participants — that’s the agreement when you join.
03
Pricing & billing
What do I get for free?
One personal roll per calendar month and the ability to join any shared roll you’re invited to. No watermarks, no shot count reduction, no ads.
What does Friends cost?
$4.99 per month. It unlocks unlimited personal and shared rolls and up to 10 invitees per shared roll. A 7-day free trial is available the first time.
What does Events cost?
$19.99 per month. Everything in Friends, plus more than 10 invitees per roll and owner-only develop control. Designed for weddings, parties, and group trips with a host.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Go to iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, choose Fini, and cancel. Your access continues until the end of the current period.
What happens to my rolls if I cancel?
Existing rolls stay visible. You may lose the ability to create new shared rolls or invite past the free limits until you resubscribe.
04
Account, privacy & data
How do I sign in?
Sign in with Apple or with Google. Fini never sees your password — the provider authenticates you and tells Fini who you are.
Where do my photos live?
Photos on personal rolls stay on your device and are never uploaded. Photos on shared rolls are uploaded to private storage so the other participants can see them once the roll develops. Read more in the privacy policy.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from Settings inside the app. Deletion removes your profile, your participation records, and the photos you uploaded to shared rolls. Personal-roll photos are on your device — deleting the app deletes them.
Do you train AI on my photos?
No. We don’t use your photos for training, marketing, or anything other than delivering them to the people on your roll.
Is Fini available on Android or the web?
Not yet. Fini is iOS-only today. The website you’re on exists to install the app, not to use it.
I have another question.
Write to hello@shootfini.app. Email reaches the person who built the app.
Easier to feel it than to read about it.
